Today I bring you not one but two
model kit reviews! These two curious characters are part of
a series created by the talented Mike Falcigno. Original designs
based on his own sketches and full of character. As much
as I like Frankenstein, Nosferatu, superheroes and other establshied
characters, there's nothing I like better than a new original
design. It just opens up the imagination and allows the painter
to really go wild with creativity.
First up is the lovable and cranky, Maggot Boy. Maggot Boy
is a messy guy especially when eating his daily meal. No he's
not a vegetarian, this guy really loves his red meat. Maggot
Boy is sculpted full of detail and attitude, from his hungry
mouth, to the puss filled cracks in his poor skin. He comes
cast in 9 grey colored resin parts, with separate teeth and
a detailed
base. The casting is downright perfect, with just the usual
seam lines to sand down. There are no pin holes or air bubbles
at all.
Next up is Missing Link, one of my favorite character designs
to come along in a very long time. Life didn't give this poor
falla the prettiest face to look at but he's still happy, as
long as he has his paddleball and his shake. Telented too...
he can drink the shake and be perfect with the paddle ball,
at the same time! Just look at that face and tell me you don't
want to take this guy home and put him in your display cabinet.
Sure to be the center of attraction when your girlfriend comes
over. Or mother in law if you're less lucky. Just like Maggot
Boy, Missing Link is sculpted full of detail, right down to
his massive teeth and lovable face. Cleanly cast in grey resin,
comes in 10 parts, including chain and straw for his drink.
Both kits come with a sample photo and a funny admission ticket,
giving a background on each character. Please support original
kit designs and give these two a good home.
Overall Maggot Boy and Missing
Link get a 5 out of 5.
